Simplify Your Life … Do Less and Accomplish More, with the New 30-Day Simplify Your Life Challenge
The day has almost arrived. I’m not going to Burning Man this year. I’m going to Bali. It’s a healer’s pilgrimage if you will, to one of the global centers of yoga, meditation, bodywork, and spiritual healing. It’s the perfect place to record the brand new 30-Day Simplify Your Life Challenge: Do Less and Accomplish More … on location.
When I first started blogging, and became well-known rather quickly … I envisioned a certain “trajectory” for this business. Think Tony Robbins lol. Or Wayne Dyer. I envisioned it would involve lots of public speaking events, lots of traveling, lots of “doing.” I thought I would be famous and appearing on Oprah and it would be very much like having a job. Haha …
Well, I may have been wrong. My core guidance comes from the ultra-powerful book A Course in Miracles … This book teaches us that we can do more in a very short time for the healing of the planet by doing nothing than we could accomplish in centuries of hard work or contemplation. “I rest in God.” “I need do nothing.” Here’s one really powerful passage:
“Each hour that you take your rest today, a tired mind is suddenly made glad, a bird with broken wings begins to sing, a stream long dry begins to flow again. The world is born again each time you rest, and hourly remember that you came to bring the peace of God into the world, that it might take its rest along with you.”
– A Course in Miracles
Well, so it is. The conventional world equates “hard work” with “being a good person.” What if hard work is actually not helping anyone?
One really clear practical example of this is what happened to my mileage after I gradually adopted this new lifestyle. Like most Americans, I used to drive about 12,000 miles per year in my car. That’s a lot of miles, a lot of gas, a lot of exhaust, and a lot of traffic. A lot of accidents and a lot of insurance coverage. A lot of roadkill. This past year, my mileage has been miniscule. I’ve had my car almost two years and it still has about 8600 miles on it. Most of that was from the first year. I’ll be down to 3000 miles per year or less probably this year. The decrease in my carbon footprint is huge. Can you imagine if this lifestyle were implemented globally? A lot of our “problems” would be solved.
As this business has evolved, I have been consistently guided AWAY from working hard, and in fact my life has been literally EMPTYING OUT.
Yet somehow, I am always provided for in my material needs. This month over $17,000 coming in pretty effortlessly. Now I do re-invest most of that money back in this business in one way or another … A lot of that involves supporting other healers, for example. The point is: doing less is not hurting me. Rather, it seems to be essential to healing. And the Universe always finds ways – often really ingenious ways – to provide for me.
Inspired by this, and wishing to amplify the effects even more … plus receiving feedback from my customers that this would be a welcome 30-Day Challenge, I have decided that the Bali Challenge will be the 30-Day Simplify Your Life Challenge: Do Less and Accomplish More.
I am not special. Anyone can simplify their life and enjoy abundance without working hard for it.
During this magical journey to Bali, Malaysia, and Singapore, we will be exploring all kinds of ways of doing less and accomplishing more. Bali is a mecca for yin yoga, meditation, long languorous days of bodywork, and lots of spiritual healers. I will be sharing what I learn and suggestions for what you can do at home in the 30-Day Simplify Your Life Challenge. You will also want to bookmark this blog and check back often for updates … Our journey to Bali will be more about being rather than doing, less active than our Costa Rica journey I think.
At least five Simplify Your Life videos will be recorded and posted before I leave on this trip, so by September 4, 2013. Most of the rest I plan to record on location during this trip so you can enjoy the lush scenery of Bali and Malaysia along with me. :) The remaining 25 EFT tapping videos I promise will be posted by mid-October at the latest. If my internet connection is solid enough during my travels, they will be posted sooner as they were for the Costa Rica trip …
