Mmmmmm … returning to nature. Returning to simplicity. It feels amazing.

We are living a peaceful, simple life here up in the mountains. The snow has been epic (the most snow in 25 years, already 45 feet at the top of Squaw Valley). Today after my sessions were over, we shoveled snow for four hours … we had so much snow that the hot water heater and dryer vents got covered (they are up to 12 feet off the ground!) and the hot tub was encased.

Do you think it sounds like a lot of work to shovel snow for four hours? We enjoyed every moment of it. For a while, the cats came out and played on the snow with us. I had an intuition about snow falling from the roof. We got out of the way, and 30 seconds later a huge avalanche came down.

After all that, there was still a bit of daylight, and I enjoyed a soak in the hot tub surrounded by glistening 15 foot snow cliffs. Miraculous. Beautiful. Serene.

We’ve been enjoying wood fires, root beer floats, fish tacos, grilled cheese sandwiches, cappuccinos, hot chocolate infused with peppermint, glasses of pinot noir. I’ve had some epic ski days. We’ve finished about a hundred little projects around the house.

The days are guided by the soft rhythm of the sun and the weather and the snow. If the plows come on time, we might go out. If they don’t, we stay in. It’s peaceful. It’s quiet. There’s a lot of space just to be. There’s no face time and no bureaucracy.

We’ve been practicing non-violent communication. Not formally. It just happens. We’ve been practicing appreciation and peaceful living.

Every twilight is a miracle of shifting light playing on the snow-covered trees. The physicality of the living is the perfect balance to writing articles and doing sessions with my clients.

It feels … absolutely wonderful. I feel like I am living a dream come true.

Thank you to all my clients who have made this possible for me. It is my intention and my commitment and my honor to make this possible for all of you.

Peace.
