“If you can’t beat them, join them.”

So I was sitting on the back deck of the house that I now own free and clear thanks to Holistic Belief Reprogramming (read more here), pondering next steps.

And as I sipped a cool glass of champagne by the hot tub and soaked in the lovely scent of Tahoe pine trees and the evening sun streaming through the trees, with a squirrel chirping nearby, those words popped into my mind:

“If you can’t beat them, join them.”

I mean, this site PostFeminine is awesome. I’m already getting lots of great feedback about it. And it’ll be great standing alone, just as I have been great standing alone these past few years. Similarly, the site PostMasculine (which is not affiliated with this site) is an awesome site standing alone.

But you know … it’s the same with many things in life. Peanut butter is great by itself. But just plain peanut butter pales in comparison to peanut butter and chocolate together. What are skis without snow? What are candles without flame? What is summer without winter? What is nightlife without daytime? What is Neo without Trinity?

Who is Man without Woman?

And it just occurred to me, how much more we can accomplish when we work together than when we try to be loners and do it all by ourselves. So much of the magic is in the interplay, the way one person has an idea, and another thinks of something new from that, and back and forth it goes in an upward gorgeous spiral of creativity. So much more fun than going it alone.

It made me smile, and laugh a little bit, in the way we laugh when we know that everything is working out perfectly, as I repeated to myself, over and over again:

We can fight against Union for a long, long time, but it won’t ever lead to true emotional fulfillment. True emotional fulfillment can only come from returning Home. Home to God, and Home to each other. And probably Home to America (though travel and living abroad sometimes for the right reasons can be a lot of fun). Lol ;)
