What Is Thai Massage? Another Secret for Keeping Your Body Supple and Healthy

what is thai massageHealing bodywork is an integral part of my Holistic Belief Reprogramming system. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping) is a powerful tool when used in isolation. However, EFT tapping is really only as powerful as the issues we are able to reach in your subconscious mind. In the last two posts, we explored What Is Yin Yoga? and the fact that “the issues are in the tissues (Steve Piccus White Tiger Tantra).” Today we offer another modality for helping to keep your body and mind supple and youthful: What is Thai Massage anyway?

Thai massage is a form of massage that is received fully clothed and without oil. Often the massage is performed on a soft mat on the floor. Sometimes it is offered as “Thai table massage” on a traditional massage table. The Thai massage therapist leans on the body of the massage recipient and applies pressure or engaged the recipient in “passive” yoga-like stretches. The result in feeling is similar to the practice of yin yoga. It feels good. Really good. And Thai massage helps keep the body supple and flexible and to release trauma out of the muscles and connective tissue. Very often, emotional issues that had been repressed will come to the surface of the conscious mind during the What Is Yin Yoga? or Thai massage. We can make note of these new issues and use EFT tapping later to address and release them.

Thai massage helps us to identify and release energy blockages that are causing negative emotions, fatigue, aging, and a host of other problems in our lives.

Thai massage like other forms of bodywork also helps us practice presence and get more in tune with our bodies. In our culture where everyone is constantly checking email and iPhones, with mile-long to-do lists and way too many “bright shiny objects,” it is crucial to carve out time to be fully present in our bodies without distraction. Like meditation, a commitment to receiving regular bodywork trains the mind to become more present all the time. Massage is actually a practice like yoga or meditation. I have found that my ability to drop almost instantly into a meditative state during massage is improving all the time.

In addition, a mind-into-body technique like EFT tapping can get way too “in the head” if it is not grounded with regular “body-into-mind” techniques such as massage. These are just a few of the reasons why I recommend regular bodywork to all of my private clients and loyal customers.

Now what does all this have to do with our current goal of Simplify Your Life in 30 Days with EFT Tapping? When my Holistic Belief Reprogramming system is practiced regularly over long periods of time, life gets more and more simple by the day. We use meditation, bodywork, yin yoga and other “in the body” practices to dredge up the crap from your subconscious mind. Then we use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping) to clear the crap away. As we do this day after day after day, the busy-ness and stress and complexity of life falls away … and everything starts to become oh so simple. The way it was meant to be before ego consciousness shattered our Oneness with All that Is.
