You do not overcome scarcity mindset by practicing scarcity mindset – the Power of Tough Love
Overcoming Scarcity Mindset is the theme of this morning’s mailbag. And here is the bottom line, folks. You do not overcome scarcity mindset by practicing scarcity mindset. You must start practicing abundance mindset if you want your reality to change. That means no more “trying to get everything for free.” No more hunting for discounts and coupons and bargains. No more saying “I can’t afford it.” No more “playing it safe” and “pinching pennies” and “cutting corners.” People sometimes wonder why I am a tough love coach. The answer is that I want you to get results, and you are not going to get any results if I indulge your scarcity mindset and claims of weakness. This morning, I answered two emails helping people to see how their scarcity mindset is hurting them. And I have decided to share the emails I wrote to these two people here on the blog so we can help more people shift to an abundance mindset.
Overcoming Scarcity Mindset – Email #1
The first woman whose email I answered has already emailed me several times over the past couple of months. She has repeatedly asked for technical assistance and to have her free trial of the 30-Day Abundance Challenge started over again. I did start it over again for her once, which she failed to use. And really, enough is enough. A coach or healer MUST have good boundaries to be successful, and if I continued to indulge the baloney she is doing here, it would hurt both of us.
The great irony of her email to me this morning is the problem she is complaining about: she often helps people for free and ends up not having a sustainable or prospering business as a result. She fails to ask to set good boundaries and insist on being paid. Thinking you are going to live in a “free” or “barter” economy is great until you consider the fact that your landlord probably is not going to accept barter to pay your rent. And Safeway thus far has no “barter” system for groceries. So at the end of the day, we are still living in a world where you need MONEY to be sustainable. And you see, here she is asking me repeatedly for “free” help, not taking responsibility for herself, and not How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping. So she is DOING exactly what she does not want to be done to her. And that is her problem – she is practicing scarcity mindset, so her potential clients and customers do the same thing to her.
The way out of this problem is NOT for me to give her anything else for free. The way out of this problem is for me to model good boundaries for her and insist that she invest money to receive any further attention from me. Which is exactly the same thing she needs to do with her clients and customers. So this is what I wrote to her:
My friend, I already started it over for you and you did not take advantage of it. My intuition is very clear that this How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping will help you and also VERY clear that you simply need to purchase the product. $297 is a very small investment for the value you are going to get from these videos. You see, you need to understand that life is a mirror. You have emailed me multiple times now wanting my help without paying me anything, and that is a mirror of what you are getting back from the world. It’s actually very important for your results here that you take the plunge and invest the $297 for the How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping with faith that the Universe always gives back what you give to others, multiplied.
I see these issues all the time with healers, and it’s a big reason I insist on being paid. I must set the example for a sustainable business if I’m going to teach this. So please just How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping. Thank you.
Overcoming Scarcity Mindset – Email #1
My second email this morning about the Overcoming Scarcity Mindset theme went to a sweet woman who works at the yoga studio that I frequent. This woman has compared me to Mary Magdalene, haha, and she used some of my free videos to win over $500 in the lottery a week or so ago. :)
She wanted to work with me or get some of my products but claimed she “could not afford it.” Well, I know this is not true because, for example, some of that $500 could have been invested in her personal development by How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping or joining my Gold membership. So after I slept on it, I sent her this “tough love” email:
Okay I slept on this overnight. I appreciate you wanting to learn more about what I am teaching, and I want to share some intuitions with you. I do think as we talked about that writing an email in which you clarify your vision will be very helpful to you. Starting a blog can also help you meet this purpose of clarifying your intentions, as well as beginning to reach your audience. With technology the way it is now, there is no reason to limit yourself to a “local” audience. My clients live all over the world.
My intuition is that where you need to begin is the How to Attract Money with EFT Tapping. This is one of my “starter” products, and as you can see from the testimonials, when people use it with commitment, it pays for itself many times over. Now I kind of went back and forth about what would be the aligned way to offer this to you. I’m going to share my honest thoughts and hope you will see it as the free coaching that it is.
