Going where others fear to tread …

Unlike most good skiers, I did not learn the sport as a child …

But I wasn’t going to let that stop me.

A few years ago, as I stood at the top of West Face at the legendary Squaw Valley ski resort, it took my breath away.

It looked sooooo steep and scary. So “impossible.”

Now it’s one of my favorite runs.

Funny thing about fears, huh?

When you face them, they disappear :)
