Energy Healing Can Give Us A Good Excuse to Be More Affectionate!
People who know me know I am fond of the pickup artist community. I couldn’t care less how many guys a girl has been physically involved with — that is not the point at all. What appeals to me about pickup artists is their ability to connect with people. I appreciate that a pickup artist is never going to start a conversation by asking you what you do for a living or where you are from. A PUA worth his salt is going to engage you right where you are, in the present moment. He’s going to talk to you as if he already knows you, and you will be off and running … freed from the thoughts in your head for a precious vacation from everyday concerns.
I love experimenting with ways of connecting with people, too, and this is a good one. I recently was “initiated” into Reiki energy healing. For those who are not familiar, you can read about it here: http://www.reiki.org/FAQ/WhatIsReiki.html. (This goes without saying, but Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical care.) Basically, anyone can be initiated with Reiki, and you receive the gift of being able to channel universal life healing energy through your hands. My hands used to be cold a lot, and now when I’m around people they light up like torches.
So this energy healing gives me an excuse to … touch anyone I want! A week or so ago, I was in a wine bar, and two guys standing nearby were being pretty standoffish. When they saw me putting my hands all over everyone else though, men and women alike, they warmed right up. Pretty soon they wanted my healing hands on them too. Energy healing helps everyone feel comfortable and safe.
This past weekend, I channeled energy healing for a friend’s friend at another cute little neighborhood bar. When I tried to take my hand away, he said, “where are you going? come back.” :-)
This little social tip also works when you’re out and you want to stay out longer but your friends are getting tired. Usually with a bit of energy healing they perk right up again.
The best though was my friend the other night at sushi. He has had heart problems in the past, and his heartbeat had become irregular again. He was very worried and thought he might need to be admitted to the hospital again. After dinner, we sat on a little bench outside the sushi place, and I put one hand on his chest and one on his back. His heart space felt a little cold to me, so I channeled energy healing until it warmed up.
The next morning I got a text that said, “Hey you… Good work. Checked the ticker this morning and it was back in sinus rhythm…. another feather in your cap. Thank you! :-)”
Text messages don’t get any better than that! If you are shy, perhaps it’s time to learn some energy healing techniques. It just might open up entirely new social words to you :)
