The interpretation of the myth is great. On oedipal complex… this has always been Freud’s most controversial theory, and has caused many people to call him a quack and discount all of his theories, because of this one. Telling men they want to sleep with their moms? No thanks. There aren’t a lot of Menendez brothers who kill there parents for inheritance, either.

Your reinterpretation of the myth as to: “Jealousy, Withholding Love, Boundaries, and Rebellion” seems spot on. Applying the myth and these themes as Analogy, seems to make an obscure, partially frowned upon myth(due to the incest), relevant. Great Article. :)
