If this story is really true, I am sorry for how your life turned out. Stanford, then HLS? You were so smart, hard working, and sophisticated. Attractive too. You’d be making McKinsey Manager type of money by now if you stayed on the track. I don’t know what your priorities are, and how they have changed over time but I would guess that at a basic levels, we all need a roof over our head, food to eat, and bills to pay.

It says you had a near death experience. Did that experience tell you that there is more to this existence then what our biological instincts tell us to do, which is to eat, mate, and survive to another day? Did your near death experience really show you that after we all die, once we reach that state when bills, money, insurance, taxes, etc. don’t matter anymore, we are still around?

Show me and the other people evidence that your NDE (or OBE) showed that there is more to life and existence than this 1 life we are given on this blue rock, and maybe you can justify your choices. Just don’t lie to people. Be honest.

The world may be a very cruel place with so many selfish, malicious people. However if you are willing to help enough people with genuine intention, it does come around. Just remember Cialdini’s principle of influence, Reciprocity.

Most people always say that they have never regretted whatever decision they’ve made. I think that is just two ego defense mechanisms, rationalization and trying to justify one’s action to ourselves. Don’t rationalize and justify your reasons.

In 10 years time, can you honestly say to yourself right now that you will still be doing this type of spiritual life coaching stuff? You are not Anthony Robbins, who has had a staying power of over 3 decades.

For your financial future, diversify your investments, businesses, and maybe you will be okay later on. You, like me, are getting older. Let’s put away our fantasies and come back down to reality. Take a drive to the mountains and really think over your life.

It is easy to mis-judge someone when you don’t understand the process. HBR is very magical in producing miracles. If people like this actually experienced your products and services they would see that you don’t focus on getting thin or developing muscles, or really anything external. HBR just gets the results we need when we are dedicated to the process. Of course, you are not at all shy about asking for the miracles, either, because you understand it is your birthright. Most of us struggle with feeling unworthy of asking for anything. If we can get out of our own way and learn to trust intuition, we wouldn’t ask amiss, and when we do ask amiss, it’s another learning opportunity, not a failure.
