That’s a really excellent point, Jennifer. It’s not just lawyers who are often unhappy in their jobs. Job unhappiness is very common in many professions. It does feel so liberating to be our own boss. Thanks for stopping by.

That’s probably for the best. I’d count myself lucky if I managed not to spend all that time and money on law school.

On the other hand, I have to admit that the skills do come in handy sometimes. There are times in life when the ability to think very clearly and the ability to advocate on my own behalf are very valuable. Plus I learned a lot about belief systems that I now use in coaching people. So it wasn’t totally worthless. I do feel blessed for some of the skills I developed.

Oh boy, with that affirmation they might always be stuck being a lawyer! I wish more people understood they have options. Time to think outside the box. :)

Yes it was hard to give up … until I had created a better life for myself on evenings and weekends. Then it was pretty easy to leave :)
