Erika,

It is true! Many people spend their money on things that in the long run does not bring them happiness or inner peace. Things like $15,000 dollars wedding dresses, expensive vehicles(right after you drive it off the lot most likely will decrease in value), $75,000 dollars wedding, etc….not saying people should not have these things or spend their money on these things. Many of times and in many of these situations the “things or material possessions” leads to discontentment and buyers remorse.

Often times that beautiful $75,000 dollar wedding leads to divorce, that car ends up being totaled, and the wedding dress ends up being ripped to shreds or being sold at less than half the cost.

Off they go to the Doctor’s office for feeling the blues, physicians write a script for anti-depressants because NOW they can’t deal with the emotions. The feelings of overwhelmed, despair, grief, and anger is too much for their bodies to handle.

Although, while I am not totally against Medication being prescribed in the beginning the problems and emotional issues or root core issues are not properly address. So as you stated, a Band-Aid is placed and the problems are not really solved. The “Ego” or “Satan” convinces them they are worthless, unlovable, undesirable, and not worthy of God’s loving grace and forgiveness.

There’s that old saying, “you get what you pay for” and it rings true in this case too. There’s free videos on YouTube for a lot of self-development but without the advice and counsel of a professional – what good is it? I think that if someone is seeking self-improvement and self-development help, they shouldn’t take the cheap road, there’s no better investment than you, don’t cheat yourself!
